Our School Takes Shape

Dear Parents,

Greetings from Westlink International School! We hope your summer has been filled with family fun.

As our first school year approaches, we want to keep you up to date with events taking place in preparation for the commencement of classes. Please see below how Westlink is developing quickly into a formidable international school.

STAFF WELCOME & INDUCTION

On 1-2 August 2022, in collaboration with the International Schools Partnership (ISP), Westlink International School held a 2-day Staff Welcome and Induction program with more than 90 attendees including international ISP guests, invited experts, expat teachers, local staff and the Senior Leadership Team.

As part of the promise to continuously enhance teaching and learning quality, the Induction training program included presentations from international and local experts on the school’s profile, work ethics, and a culture that cultivates continual growth and success. By supporting our new teachers, Westlink International School supports students and their learning.

It was great to see so many parents attend the parent meeting at school on Tuesday 9th August. It was a chance to have a look around the school and meet our new and enthusiastic team of teachers and support staff.

SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRESS

Good planning and execution take time, but the results are always well worth the effort. It has been a long journey for the construction of the school with many ups and downs. The interior construction now has been completed, fitting and furnishing are well under way and the external construction is entering final stages. We expect the school to be fully completed by September 2022. We are looking forward to moving in.

Westlink conducted an induction program that focused on academic success with emphasis on teaching and leadership and tailored activities to meet the needs of the upcoming school year as well as for the school’s annual training plan.

Induction goes beyond understanding students, classes, and curriculum. It also provides information about the school systems and processes that guide the workplace, school norms and most importantly, the welfare and learning of students. The content delivered by keynote speakers was very specific and open, aimed to provide information about ISP’s policies and the educational orientation of Westlink International School.

The induction kicked off with an inspiring and motivating speech from Mr. Andy Nicol, Divisional CEO for Asia, which was followed by a presentation from Ms. Rosy Hoang, the Regional Managing Director for Vietnam & Thailand, both of whom promoted the ISP advantage of global support and collaboration.

Then, Ms. Elizabeth Cloke – Director of Learning, Malaysia introduced the Learning Hub and delivered her presentation: “Getting started with the Learning Improvement Process – the LIP”.

Moreover, Mr. Dean Dhinsa, Head of Technology for Asia, discussed the importance of cybersecurity awareness, innovative anti-cyberbullying software, and the need to take active measures to reduce paper-use on campus.

The induction has successfully concluded. By supporting new teachers, Westlink International School will be able to better support students and their learning as well. We are looking forward to a new and successful school year.

An Exciting New School Year Begins Soon

Dear parents,

Our school buildings are rapidly nearing completion, and we are looking forward to presenting the newest, state-of-the-art, fully equipped modern campus in Hanoi to welcome students in August 2022.

Despite difficulties caused by COVID-19 in 2021 and the recent bad weather, construction continues

with a commitment to delivering the highest quality facility on time for the start of the new academic school year.

In June, the main structure of the school was finished, and we are now completing the furnishing and fit-out of classrooms and facilities.
